Connor’s story:
Connor’s vision for his academy came from his unconventional story through the sport of baseball. Connor played his entire life and faced his first obstacle when he was cut from his high school baseball team. After a lot of hard work and grit, he eventually went on to play Division II baseball at Lock Haven University. Although his career at Lock Haven was short lived, after spending only a month and a half there, he was cut from the program. At that moment, Connor debated whether to continue to play the game or not. Thankfully, Connor was blessed to have great mentors in his life who kept pushing him to not let this be his last attempt at the sport. This was when Connor decided to take the Junior College route and attend Lackawanna College. When Connor came to Lackawanna College he was a depth player. Connor still faced many obstacles and challenges, but luckily his hard work and dedication to the game earned him a scholarship to the University of Pittsburgh. His Junior Year At the University of Pittsburgh, he only hit 190 and was struggling to hold a roster spot. This was when Connor knew he had to make a change. Connor had to reteach himself the game and work to find a way to be successful at a Division I school playing baseball. Going into Connor’s senior year, he was not named a starter; however, this still didn’t deter him. Connor was eventually put in as a pinch hitter and when given this opportunity, he hit a home run and had a spectacular season that concluded in him being drafted.
